How to Live Like a Penguin

They say it is a hit if the children like it; in that case, Club Penguin is a Mega Hit. Originally developed by New Horizon Interactive, Club Penguin is an online gaming-world, produced by Disney and was made available to the people on 24th October, 2005.

It was awarded the Editors Choice Award by the Children's Technology Review Magazine. The targeted audience this club aims at is the age group of people between six and fourteen. Though it is meant for a particular age group, the club is open to everyone.

On this site, the children or players have to choose avatars that are penguins and then they can flip-flop around this new world covered in snow. It can be joined for free, but to use some of the options one may need to subscribe to it.

Those who are not members can enjoy a number of facilities to like buying the colors and they can even go anywhere. But, they are not allowed to go for parties and can only buy two colors: blue and red. They can not buy anything either. The non-members can buy only two puffles and not more than that. Also, a new game is opened to the non-members after some time.

But once you become a subscribed member, you are granted a lot of benefits. If you are a member you can call over your friends to visit your home or igloo. You can buy the furniture and clothes and are given prime importance when it comes to inclusion of new features. You are the first to enjoy a new game launched and get invited to play them.

There are parties held that are strictly "Members Only" for them to enjoy. Members can buy puffles too and they can choose from a wide range of them covering all the possible breeds of puffle.

Club Penguin Puffles

The very famous Club Penguin is a "gaming" or a "virtual life" site for kids aged four to four teen. On this site they are a part of a world covered in snow. They join it as penguins and live a life of one too. Each player or penguin has to play games and earn enough money to buy things and meet the needs of a penguin.

They get invited to parties and get free gifts there too. They each have an igloo of their own and can decorate it the way they want to. Members can even have a theme-igloo.

Each penguin player can keep a pet "Puffle". Puffles are tiny, furry creatures. These are available in the market in the pet shops. Puffles are available in various shades like pink, purple, red, blue, green and black. But, these shades are available only to the members of the Club Penguin who have the advantage of keeping up to 12 puffles. The non-members can choose only between the colors red or blue and can keep only two at a time.

All the shades of the puffles basically define the various breeds they are available in. So the six colors are basically the various types of puffles and they each differ in their temperament and nature like the pink ones are energetic and happy ones, the purple ones are good dancers and like to blow bubbles, the red ones are adventurous, the blue ones are the calmest of the lot, the green ones are very playful and the black ones have quite an attitude. Yellow puffles are said to join this world too very soon.

It is a lot of fun to have a puffle as a pet and the more the merrier. They each have a unique personality and so the master penguin reacts to each penguin differently.

Club Penguins Even Have a Newspaper!

Club Penguin is a fun gaming site for children. It aims at kids who are four to fifteen years old. In this site, the players get to join the world as penguins. The world of Club Penguin is covered in snow and the resident penguins live in igloos. They play games to earn money and they use the money to buy the basic necessities.

The members can even do up their igloos the way they like and can buy decorative items to decorate it. Members can even have themes to their igloos buy paying an amount in coins. All resident penguins can even keep pets.

Their pets are called puffles and they are available in various colors and the various colors define the various breeds. With the breeds the characteristics of the puffles also change.

The world of the penguins is so real that they even have their own newspapers. Their newspaper is called The Penguin Times. It is a weekly that is available on Thursdays. It contains all news about the Penguins and the games and has a comic section and a lot more. Newspapers of the last six weeks can be read at The Boiler Room that lies under the Night Club.

With each newspaper there is a supplement that has a list of the venues and timings of the upcoming parties. Details of the next pin are also available.

There is even an advice column in the newspaper. The penguin writing them is called Aunt Arctic. She lets people answers people queries regarding games and even manners. If a resident has a question, it is answered in the newspaper through this column using the pen name of Aunt Arctic. They can ask their questions in an in-game format.

Club Penguin - Famous Penguins

In the gaming, snow covered world of Club Penguin, the residents are all penguins. These penguins live like real people, they have parties, they earn money, and they live in igloos and decorate their homes too. Since there are such similarities to real life, in the Club Penguin world there are celebrities too who are living among them.

These "famous penguins" can not be visited by all the other resident penguins. Only the moderators know where they stay. One famous group of penguins is "The Team". They are the original or the first moderators. They are Billybob, Happy77, Gizmo, Rsnail and Screenhog.

Billybob now writes the blog and also lets penguins know about the upcoming events. Happy77's profile is used as a model to other penguins to show what a moderators profile looks like. Gizmo's job includes taking care of all the parties. The servers and the technical side is looked after by Rsnail. The job of Screenhog is to design other penguins.

Another famous penguin in this world is Rockhopper. He is a pirate and visits this land once in 2 months aboard his ship called The Migrator. When he comes penguins are allowed to board his ship and buy some of the strange contents including a diary of Rockhopper's adventures. This penguin is a lot bigger than the normal penguins and is also dressed like pirates. Pirate clothes are unavailable to others.

One of the most famous set or group of penguins is the Band. The Band, a group of four musicians, attends all the big parties and events that take place at Club Penguin. The band has evolved from what it was in the beginning when the Club was a new concept. There is a drummer, an acoustic guitarist, a bass guitarist and a pianist.

The Story Behind the Largest Gatherings of Penguins

If you have always wondered what Club Penguin is all about but are not a member yet, look no further! Here we discuss all that Club Penguin about, the life, the games and the world.

In the Club Penguin world you can chat with your friends using two options. The first is the Ultimate Safe Chat option. If you choose this you can talk to your friends using phrases that are provided to you. The other option is the Standard Safe Chat option. If you choose this, you can type in your own text but there still is censorship that is imposed on the text. When you chose to play a game, you have to chat and though in most cases both options are available, some have only the Ultimate Safe Chat option available.

If a user uses foul language during a chat or at any other time, there is a 24 hour ban imposed on that user. If you go on using foul language, there is a longer period of the ban imposed on you. If you have been banned four or more times already, you get banned for ever from Club Penguin.

To keep a check there are teams of moderators that are always on a vigil to keep a check on the players and whether or not they are using abusive terms and profanity. The same group goes through the ideas sent in by the players for new games. If you want to be a moderator you have to be above 18 years of age and pass a few tests that the producers of this game have set up.

Living in Club Penguin is a lot like real life. the moment you join, you are provided with an igloo to live in. if you are a subscribing paid member you can even call your friends over to visit your igloo and visit your friends igloo too.

3. Sled Racing:

The name of the game says it all. In this, the penguins have to race. They have to race on sleds and down a hill. The hill is full of obstacles to keep the slide from being a smooth one. The player must move down and avoid all of these obstacles. There are four hills: the Bunny Hill, the Penguin Run, Hill Express and the Ride Ski Mountain Run.

4. Ice Hockey:

This is quite like the ice hockey played by human beings. The only difference lies in the fact that in the Club Penguin world, the penguin players have to hit the puck by walking over it and shoving it straight into the goal. This game is played in the ice rink.

5. Snowball Fights:

Sensei is a popular celebrity character in the online kids game, Club Penguin. He first appeared in late 2008 as part of a major event at the Dojo, a popular hangout for players in the game. During the event, strange things began to happen on Club Penguin, including the appearance of the long-rumored Club Penguin ninjas. The old Dojo was destroyed, and then the Sensei appeared as it was re-built. He took up residence inside the Dojo and became a major part of a new mini-game launched on the site called Card-Jitsu.
